AR Digital Library Consortium

ADLC

The Arkansas Digital Library Consortium (ADLC) is an Overdrive open consortium formed to facilitate the acquisition and use of digital content by pooling the buying power of Arkansas public libraries. ADLC currently contracts with OverDrive to provide eBooks and audiobooks to the patrons of member libraries.

The program is administered by the Arkansas State Library and is open to all public libraries within the state. Membership in the eBook consortium requires committing to a multi-year contract with the content vendor OverDrive. Libraries must sign an additional Memorandum of Understanding agreeing to follow ADLC policies and granting permission for annual content fees to be applied by OverDrive to a central selection committee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I know if I have access to books in OverDrive with ADLC?

A: Check the online directory to see if your library is an ADLC member.

Q:ADLC doesn’t carry a book I want, what should I do?

A: Log in to OverDrive and search for the book’s title. If the title is available in OverDrive, but your library doesn’t own it, it will appear at the bottom of the page under “Didn’t find what you’re looking for?” with an option to recommend the title for purchase to your library.

Some materials within the Arkansas Digital Library Consortium may have been purchased by the Arkansas State Library on behalf of ADLC using grant funds from U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services to the Arkansas State Library under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act.
